Most families start by solving the logistics. Someone to drive to appointments. Someone to pick up groceries. Someone to check in... those things matter. But at some point — it becomes clear that logistics aren't the problem. The problem is that your parent is spending most of their time alone and the person they used to be is getting harder to find.
At Koda we match older adults with companions from LA's creative community — working artists, writers, and musicians who bring genuine curiosity, cultural experience and intellectual engagement to everything from a gallery visit, doctors appointment or a simple errand. This isn't a task-list completed by whoever is available. It's a curated relationship with a person who knows your parent and shows up for whatever is needed.
